What the free edition leaves out
Scroll sideways to view all columns →The free edition is genuinely usable, but some team or enterprise features need a paid plan. “Not confirmed” means the official pages we read did not say, so we do not guess.
| Feature | Free edition | Details | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSO / SAML | Paid | The pricing page lists SSO from the Team plan upward and not on Free or Plus. The page does not say whether this applies to self-hosted Community or only to the paid plans. | Source ↗ |
| Role-based access control | Paid | Standard roles are listed on Team; SCIM and custom roles on Ultimate. The Enterprise-controls section also mentions custom RBAC. Role support on the free tier is not stated. | Source ↗ |
| Audit logs | Paid | Listed only on the top plan (Ultimate) and in the Enterprise controls. | Source ↗ |
| Multi-user / teams | Free | The pricing page lists up to 5 users on Free. The page does not say whether the same limit applies to self-hosted Community. | Source ↗ |
| Backups and restore | Not confirmed | No backup or restore feature was found on the pages read. | Source ↗ |
| API access | Not confirmed | The pricing page shows API access on Free, but the API docs say API keys are 'only available in the Platform and Enterprise editions'. The two pages conflict. | Source ↗ |
| Support SLA | Paid | Community support on the free tiers, email support on Team, dedicated support on Ultimate. No SLA terms were found. | Source ↗ |
Best for
Teams that want a self-hostable Zapier-style automation tool with a no-code builder and TypeScript-based integrations.
Why choose it over Zapier
The core is MIT licensed, which is OSI open source, and runs through Docker Compose. Integrations (pieces) are written in TypeScript, and the README says they are also available as MCP servers. The free tier on the pricing page includes up to 5 users.
Where it falls short
Self-hosting needs PostgreSQL and Redis rather than a single container. SSO, audit logs and custom roles are on paid plans, and the code for them sits under a separate commercial license in the same repository. API key access is described inconsistently between the pricing page and the API docs. No SLA terms were found.
